This week we have a podcast from one of the greatest of all time, an interesting cycling challenge and what happens when you go and ride Down Under. Thereās new tech from Pinarello, a World Champs preview and perhaps the most beautiful road in Europe.
Hello,
This weekās newsletter comes at you from Girona, and the start of my off-season. With my final race of the year under my belt, Iām now in a bit of a transition period of de-training before taking a few weeks completely off the bike.
Iām currently riding for fun, spending just as much time in cafes as on the bike, and not feeling guilty if I miss a session. Iām also spending more time exploring the local area and will be heading to Barcelona tomorrow for another adventure.
It really is my favourite time of year here, weāre at the back end of tourist season and the stifling heat of summer is behind us. Cafe time is training time and life is good.
Happy Pedalling,
Joe

Switzerlandās big ride
The surrounding mountains are epic and unforgiving. The climb up to the Dam itself has a 1.5 km section at more than 15%, but the view and experience are worth it. You can go no higher and have reached the end of the road, Iām adding this one to the bucket list.

Train by commute?
One of the most underrated ways to train is to factor the bike into your commute to work. Not only is it a surefire way to get more hours on the bike, but there are also other health benefits too: reducing screen time and lowering stress levels amongst others.
