đStage 68: Through the mud
cycling holidays in Greece and a revolutionary new solar-powered Garmin
This weekâs newsletter brings all of the news and round-up from Unbound Gravel that happened last weekend. We also have a revolutionary new computer from Garmin, another outrageous custom bike collaboration from Colnago and even a poem about the Giro. Donât miss the dancing in this weekâs Tweet either. Enjoy!
Hola,
Welcome back to another N+1 Newsletter coming at you from Girona. It has been outrageously hot and humid the past few days in Catalonia. Riding up Rocacorba yesterday my Wahoo computer ticked into the mid-30-degree range which is always uncomfortable.
Iâm currently on a rest day so have had a very chilled out morning with an easy one-hour ride and a coffee at Oniria.
On the theme of coffee, Oniria is trialling some new coffee beans, and they are outrageously good. If you ever have the opportunity to try Manhattan Coffee Roastersâ beans, do it. I had a Flat White with their Sweet Valley roast and itâs one of the best coffees Iâve ever had.
Happy pedalling,
Joe

Unbound Gravel Fun
It was Ivar Slik who took somewhat of a surprise victory in the menâs Unbound Gravel. The Dutchman added arguably the worldâs biggest gravel race to his Palmares by out-sprinting Keegan Swenson and last yearâs winner Ian Boswell.
In the womenâs race, Sofia Gomez Villafane rode an outstanding race by going solo for over 80 miles and winning by over nine minutes. Defending champion Lauren De Crescenzo finished second, and Emily Newsom was third.

A (unnecessarily) cool Italian Stallion
Colnago had a reputation of being behind the game in modern cycling, but not anymore. Last week, we featured Nathan Haasâ custom Colnago gravel bike, and this week theyâve released another beauty. They have collaborated with Italian luxury shoe brand Todâs to create the Todâs T Bike.
There are only 70 available and it will âonlyâ cost you ÂŁ14,500. And yes, you can buy it with bitcoinâŠ

An unexpected cycling location
Itâs safe to say that Greece wouldnât feature near the top of most âWhere to go for a cycling holidayâ lists. Conversely, maybe thatâs why you should try it out. An unexpected hidden gem with rugged coastlines, beautiful mountain scenery, and unique culture.

A Giro dâItalia poem
I studied English Literature at school, and while I canât say it was my favourite subject in the world, it taught me to appreciate poetry - sometimes. After stumbling across this poem on Twitter, I thought itâd be rude not to include it.
A homage to the Giro dâItalia in a slightly different style to the normâŠ

Slowing down to speed up
Recovery is a topic that is largely abused in the world of sports. High-quality recovery time can be as important as high-quality training time. An athlete at any level is only as good as their ability to recover.
